Did you know that before Easter Sunday, during the fasting period and before lent starts eggs are prohibited, thus they consume all of it--- making it into pancake--- establishing the Pancake Day. What we all know about (雜碎) Chap Suey is that it came from the Chinese, but we don’t know the rest of the story--- there are several. It is believed that the dish was invented (or should I say prepared) during the Chinese Ambassador’s, (李鴻章) Li HongZhang’s visit to the United States, but another story said that it came from Taishan, a district in Guangdong Province which as we all know is always portrayed as the city of great food inventions (the Cantonese cuisine).
The Chap Suey story has definitely been mixed up. --- And so as this blog, the blog will try to collect and record the all the food available all over the world--- and try to find some interesting facts about the food thru trivia.
